SIENNA AND THE CITY

Sienna and the City is an activity in which Sienna members and supporters go around different locations (restaurants and bars) in the city. The purpose of Sienna and the City is:

To promote Sienna to other Trans Individuals.
To promote and educated all members of the LGBTQ Community about Sienna and the Transgender Issues.
To promote safe sex and to help protect and educate the trans community that is on the street. (Many trans individuals can't find work since employers are reluctant to hire trans people so there are those that end up on the street. We want to help protect these individuals with safe sex methods but also try to get them off the street)
Eventually, we have plans to get out in the "mainstream" community to help educated and promote trans awareness.

REQUIREMENTS TO JOIN US WITH SIENNA AND THE CITY

You must be over 21 since we will be going to bars.
You need to be willing and able to promote Sienna and the TG issues.
Presentable in public.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO:

...be transgender.
...be a member of Sienna.
...from the Louisville area.

Currently, our Outreach Coordinato (Bejon St. James) will organize the Sienna and the City events each month.

Typically we have SATC (Sienna and the City) on the first Saturday of each Month but we will probably move this around on occasion.

Email us at siennatg@aol.com if you are interested in participating. This website will be updated monthly with current SATC information. It is an “aggressive” idea in that we will try to accomplish a lot of positive things that night.

Here are some things that are needed I think…I am sure we will add to the list as we do this:

Help creating the packets.
Drivers for the night (helpful if some that don’t drink).
Volunteer’s that want to go to the “mainstream” places to hand out packets.
Help on getting discounts, specials, coupons, donations for this.
It would be great to have “non TG’s involved so bring friends and family if you want.
Out of town friends are certainly welcome too.

I know we are going to the bars/clubs a lot but that is where there are a lot of TG’s (Girls mostly) that need some of our packets.

Part of this schedule is for the members to have fun as much as it is to "educate". Our new "mission" is to have fun and educate along the way. This is a way we can do this.

SOME THINGS TO REMEMBER

Many of these places will require a cover charge of either $3.00 or $5.00.
Most of these places will require you show your ID.
There will be some "special" nights at some of the clubs. We might have to change our plans based on this.
